7 Member Ranks
(O1) = Junior Officer
(O2) = Officer
(O3) = Senior Officer
(O4) = Manager
(O5) = Executive
(O6) = Director
(O7) = CEO
(Officer Grade 1) = Junior Officer
This is the starting rank in INSUN. Junior Officers are full members of INSUN and we do not have any affiliates. This is a "getting to know you" introductory rank. Promotion from this rank requires at least 1 month active with the org in the Persistent Universe (PU) and some reasonable degree of participation in group activities. This rank also allows for those wanting an extremely CASUAL gaming experience.
(Officer Grade 2) = Officer
This is a core rank which allows for CASUAL to REGULAR gaming. This type of member is in some way contributing time and effort to the welfare of the org and some degree of trust has been earned. Further promotion requires the member to have been active at this rank for at least 2 months in the PU.
(Officer Grade 3) = Senior Officer
This is a core rank involving a REGULAR presence with INSUN in the PU. This type of member is regularly contributing time and effort to the welfare of the org and is well known. Further promotion requires the member to have been active at this rank for at least 2 months in the PU.
(Officer Grade 4) = Manager
This is a core rank which allows for REGULAR (and even HARDCORE) gaming. These members' primary role is to assist Executives with the operation of an Activity Dept. This type of member routinely contributes time and effort to the daily running of the org. Time to be promoted from this rank cannot be estimated and depends entirely on the character and abilities of the individual. This rank requires a REGULAR gaming style and is unlikely to be suitable for CASUAL gamers.
(Officer Grade 5) = Executive
Executives are members tasked with leading an Activity Dept (we have 6 Executives per Activity Dept; comprising 2 people from each of the 3 major timezones). Executives and higher ranks participate in an Executive Council where our Activity Depts and Support Services co-ordinate and receive strategic guidance from the Board of Directors. To gain promotion to Executive, the person must have served as a Manager for a reasonable period and with a proven track record of sound judgement. Promotion beyond this rank cannot be estimated and depends entirely on the character and abilities of the individual. This rank and beyond requires a HARDCORE approach to gaming (due to the numerous meta-game duties of Executives).
(Officer Grade 6) = Director
Directors are members tasked with determining org strategy and direction, providing oversight and co-ordination between Activity Depts, deciding diplomatic issues, plus a myriad of important meta-game tasks.
(Officer Grade 7) = CEO
The CEO is the person ultimately responsible for guiding and guarding the org, it’s members and assets. The CEO is responsible for ensuring that both the Board of Directors and the Executive Council remain organized and effective. The CEO will, as needed, unilaterally decide matters that require an immediate decision and/or when there is insufficient time for the Board or Executive Council to resolve a matter.
